Everybody is looking for information about something. Quality, relevant information for their kids, gardens, home projects, hobbies, and the list goes on and on. What you know is interesting and relevant to someone. And it's so easy to distinguish a writer who knows and loves what she is talking about from some disconnected copywriter in a huge company or some hype-ridden sales representative. It's all about communication and connecting! Surfers love Web sites that reflect the owner's passion about a specific topic (i.e., gardening, animals, travel, bonsai, babies…, etc.) They are excited to find articles, advice, and ideas that respond to their needs or fuel their dreams and when they discover a site that appeals to them, they will return often. You too can become a sought-after communicator on the Net! What is your passion? What information, based on your experiences (life, education, employment), could you share? How could you help someone else? Everybody knows something about something, even you…..! Identify what it is that you know about and then write about it! There are thousands and thousands of people who want to read about it, and who are prepared to spend money on it right now. Just like the many professionals who do so, you too can use the internet to share information about something you know and love. What other tool, available to you at home, provides you with the opportunity to share your knowledge and passion with people from all around the world?..... to work with complete flexibility around your family, without a boss, deadlines, quotas or... an updated wardrobe? …. to make some extra money to help buy braces, or pay for piano lessons, or save for college education, or go on a family vacation? A washing machine won't do it. A shovel won't. Using your car for evening catalogue delivery won't either. So will a web site inviting your visitors to experience better health by using organic foods and herbs grown at home… Or a site telling people the secrets of how you lost 25 kilos and offering advice as to how they can lose weight too. There are, of course, a mind boggling number of web sites on the internet, over 50 million I believe, and they’re all looking to do the same thing as you, make money, so how on earth could you compete with all that expertise?. While it’s not ‘easy’ it certainly isn’t so difficult that you can’t do it, just as thousands of others have. You have ideas, you solve problems every day in your primary job as a mom, and you use your imagination and the skills you have to do what needs to be done for the good of your family. You also know that anything that is worthwhile can’t be achieved in a day, or a month, but these things take time to flourish and grow. It’s the same with your on-line, web business. Yes, it is a business, it needs work, sometimes a lot of it, but the upside is, you do it when you have the time. Your kids get sick, take a day off, it’s sports day at the school, take a day off, you’ve got a couple of hours in the evening, go to work. You see, if you put in the effort, regardless of how long it takes, you will reap the rewards. You will, of course, need tools, tools to make this new business venture of yours a workable proposition. What you must provide is the enthusiasm, the patience, the ‘stickablity’ that says when the going gets tough I’m going to keep on going. Have a little belief in yourself and know that you can achieve those things you set out to achieve if you just keep working and don’t give up. My own web site, this one, has taken me two years so far to get to where it is and, quite frankly, I’m proud of what I’ve achieved. I’ve worked hard at it, I’ve cursed it at times, I’ve done no work for weeks on end but I keep coming back to it and I’m seeing the results.
