Queensland Attractions.

Queensland attractions, things to see, things to do, made by God or made by man, Queensland has a host of wonderful attractions just waiting for you to find them.

Brisbane, the major city and capital of Queensland and the place that I call home, has a multitude of things to see and do.

One of the great Queensland attractions in Brisbane is the Queensland Cultural Centre, which houses the Queensland Museum and Art Gallery, just a short walk from the CBD across the Victoria Bridge in the Southbank Parklands.

Southbank itself is one of my favourite Queensland attractions and the heart of Brisbane's cultural, recreational and entertainment scene.

The 17 hectares, known as The Parklands, is a picturesque spot and home to 20 eateries for all tastes and budgets.

Another of my favourite Queensland attractions is Breaka Beach at Southbank, a man made lagoon beach, where sun, sand and lifeguards deliver a beach experience to the heart of the city.

You can take your togs, (that may be bathers or swimmers to some of you), pack up a barbie (BBQ) and enjoy a day at the beach without having to drive for an hour or two.

Southbank is a very popular spot for a great day out with the family or friends.

There is, however, much more to see and do in and around Brisbane, it’s a great city.

The Gold Coast area is jam-packed with Queensland attractions for the tourist whether you're a family, single or on honeymoon, in fact the Gold Coast is the Theme Park Capital of the southern hemisphere.

You can enjoy everything from the latest rides and special effects to aquatic wonders or even feeding our native wildlife in natural surroundings.

You can spend your days lazing on some of the best beaches in the world or walking in wonderful national parks and at night the Gold Coast comes alive and you can take in one of the many shows or live it up at one of the nightclubs or discos.

On the Sunshine Coast you’ll find the famous Australia zoo, home of the late Steve Irwin and his family.

Terri, Bindi, and little Bob, keep Steve’s dream alive and this is a place you really can’t afford to miss.

The crocodile shows are something else but there’s much, much more to Australia Zoo.

Debbie and I took our youngest grand-daughter there recently, she's 3 1/2 years old, and both she and we had a wonderful day.

Just to see her face as she saw all the animals, and especially when she fed the young ones in the zoo nursery was a real treat.

Support the Wildlife Warriors and pay a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Of course there’s a lot more to the Sunshine Coast, places like Aussie World which sits behind the Ettamogah Pub, and the pub itself is not like any other watering hole you’ve seen anywhere else in the world.

Wonderful beaches, pristine hinterland, nightlife, shopping, cafes, the list goes on, and on, and on…..

The Whitsundays are, of course, part of the The Great Barrier Reef national park and offer such an abundance of wonderful natural Queensland attractions that you could be mistaken into thinking that there is nothing else to do here but soak up the amazing scenery.

You’d be wrong; there are a great many other wonders to experience here, things like the famous Bowen Murals or the Hook Island Observatory or the Big Mango as well as any number of art galleries, markets and so on.

The Whitsunday region is full of so many wonderful ways to enjoy yourself you could end up being spoilt....

In the Tropical North of Queensland, like everywhere else in this big state, you’ll find the most wonderful natural Queensland attractions like the Millaa Millaa Falls which are at Millaa Millaa and which are amongst the most photographed waterfalls in Australia.

These magnificent waterfalls are surrounded by lush rainforest located on the Waterfalls Circuit, along with Zillie and Ellinjaa Falls.

The falls cascade perfectly to a pristine waterhole below where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool water.

There's also a lovely grassy picnic area for you to relax.

There’s a butterfly sanctuary, the James Cook museum, the Cooktown Powder Magazine and a trip on the Kuranda Railway is a must do for all visitors.

So much to see and do you’ll need to plan a long stay.

And then there's Outback Queensland.

Outback Queensland isn’t all desert inhabited by scorpions and flies, there is so much to see and do here you’ll be amazed.

There’s one of Australia’s icons, the Stockman’s Hall of Fame, at Longreach and another, the Qantas Founders Outback Museum, also at Longreach.

Oh, by the way, there are also LOTS and LOTS of flies……..
