Some of Australia’s Most Popular Tourist Attractions.
If you’re heading off on a trip down under, it’s best to do a little research before you go.
Because Australia is such a big country, it’s best to set off with a plan of what you want to see and do so that you don’t miss out on any of the things you wanted to do.
Apart from booking your tickets and buying your travel insurance, one of the most important elements of your before-travel preparations is putting together a list of the things you absolutely can’t miss out on.
To help you out, we’ve created a list of some of Australia’s most popular tourist attractions.
It’s a great starting point, and from here you can create your own dream travel list.
Uluru
When it comes to Aussie icons, they don’t come more ancient than Uluru.
At the heart of the country in more ways than one, Uluru is an important symbol of the vast untamed land we call home, and the history of a people that stretches back tens of thousands of years.
Located in the lower part of the Northern Territory and surrounded by…well, not much, Uluru (also known as ‘Ayer’s Rock’) is the largest monolith in the world and a wonder to behold.
The Great Barrier Reef
We sure to like to put ‘Great’ at the beginning of a lot of our tourist attractions here in Australia, but there’s no denying that this one well and truly deserves the title.
An underwater playground the likes of which exists nowhere else on earth, the Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and a tropical paradise besides.
Stretching around the Northern part of the country, the reef is home to a dizzying array of life Base yourself in the glorious Whitsunday Islands and explore it at your own leisure—the difficult part will be pulling yourself away when it’s time to leave!
Bondi Beach
Glorious Bondi Beach is another Aussie icon, and one that draws in thousands of tourists each year. The beach is spectacular not just for its natural beauty (which it has in spades) but for the fact that it has spawned a laid-back beach lifestyle in what is one of the most dynamic and thriving cities in the world.
Sydney Harbour.
Located in Port Jackson, Sydney Harbour is widely considered one of the most beautiful natural harbours on earth.
Stretching for miles and miles, the harbour is home to the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, between them the most recognisable symbols of Sydney, and also Australia.
Take a Sydney Harbour cruise or simply relax harbourside at one of Sydney’s world-class restaurants—however you experience the harbour, you’ll be impressed.
Byron Bay
Hippy, surfie, trendy Byron Bay is a little slice of life how it’s supposed to be lived.
The laid-back beach town is a haven of creative types and artistic expression, and the surrounding hinterland is some of the most beautiful in the country.
Hire a van, strap your board to the top and work your way through this stunningly beautiful region.
And don't forget, whatever you do and wherever you go, as always.............enjoy,
John.
