Darwin restaurants.

With a host of nationalities, each bringing their own recipes and flavours, the standard and variety of Darwin restaurants, cafés and eateries is unmatched.

You’ll never be left wondering where to go to get a feed in Darwin.

You can enjoy luscious, fresh local seafood with everything from oysters and crocodile to reef fish, pearl meat, prawns, mud crab and barramundi and dining out in Darwin wouldn't be complete without a visit to the extraordinary host of food stalls at the Mindil Beach Markets.

There’s food from the Philippines, India, Cambodia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Yugoslavia and Italy, and they haven't forgotten the spit roasts, fish and chips and hamburgers either.

It’s all good.

Outdoor dining is a natural phenomenon in Darwin, where the temperature rarely falls below 20 degrees.

You can even get pumpkin scones, delicious. There are weekly outdoor markets at various spots around town and an abundance of Darwin seaside restaurants, while street-side al fresco cafés offer menus that reflect Darwin’s sun-splashed, cosmopolitan character.

The list ethnic dishes available in Darwin restaurants really is endless; fishermen’s soups from Thailand, tabouleh from Lebanon, delicious curries from India, souvlaki from Greece, potato cakes and desserts from Slovenia, samousas from Sri Lanka, pasta from Italy, laksas from Malaysia, tacos from Mexico, sushi from Japan, satays from Indonesia and contemporary Australian food.

As well as an amazing array of food the Darwin restaurants also really take advantage of their wonderful settings, surrounded by tropical gardens, overlooking the boardwalk and the yachts at Cullen Bay or looking back from East Point over the sea toward the lights of the city.

Darwin is famous for its local produce, particularly seafood.

From the oceans and rivers come succulent mud crabs, fresh barramundi and prawns as well as popular eating fish such as snapper, jewfish and salmon.

In many Darwin restaurants you can order all of these off a menu, or sample them all at once in one of the seafood buffet restaurants overlooking the water.

Isn't this a great start to the day? Casual al fresco dining at one of Darwin’s city sidewalk cafes, harbourside restaurants or garden bistros is the norm in Darwin.

Many darwin restaurants are open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Coffee connoisseurs are also well catered for in Darwin with an excellent range of cafes that pride themselves on their excellent brews.

Buzz Café, perched on the water's edge at Cullen Bay, has an extensive list of wines and boutique beers.

The barramundi is a popular choice and there is the usual array of steaks, salads and noodle dishes on offer.

And don't forget to check out the famous toilets!!!

Cornucopia Café, famous for its weekend brunch, is a Darwin restaurant tradition and one of my personal favourites whenever I’m in town.

Enjoy eggs Benedict, read your paper and sip your orange juice or champagne with a great view of the museum lawns and sea.

Another favourite is Crustaceans on the Wharf, located in Darwin's Wharf precinct it has a wonderful selection of freshly caught seafood and you can view a free marine show courtesy of the local dolphins.

Crustaceans offers an International Mediterranean menu which won’t empty your wallet.

And if you like a little music with your meals then the Fox 'N' Fiddle at 85 Mitchell Street, Darwin is a place you’ll enjoy as much as we did.

As I said before, in Darwin you’ll find some wonderful Australian food as well as cuisine from whatever country you’d like to try tonight.

Search For Restaurants in Darwin for your gastronomic delight, don’t forget to book in advance or you may well be disappointed.

There are, of course, many more wonderful places to eat throughout the length and breadth of this beautiful country, every major town and every small community will have restaurants and cafés which will serve you with quite delicious food, it’s just a matter of finding them.

If you would like to view a very comprehensive listing of over 4000 restaurants, cafés and pubs throughout Oz we have it here but please remember, in order not to be disappointed you must book here before you go.
